While some folks may consider Austin, Texas to be "Music City,"
Nashville, Tennessee is widely regarded as "Music City USA" and is
considered by many to be the home of country music. Although
Nashville features live music from a wide variety of genres,
country music is predominately played throughout the city.
Nashville is home to Music Row, which houses country music
publishing companies, record labels, and recording studios. The
city is also the home to the Grand Ole Opry, which is the most
famous stage in country music and also houses America's
longest-running radio show. The majority of modern country music
singers also call Nashville home. On any given day, you might run
into Keith Urban at Starbucks, Carrie Underwood at Whole Foods, or
Faith Hill at Nashville' Pancake Pantry.
