Second class staterooms weren't as flash as the first class staterooms. You would have a library, Smoke room, promenade deck, There would be people from different countries aboard. You would be back at the stern during most of the voyage.

The first class had better staterooms and more rooms than the third class. Now the third class just had small tiny cabins near to where the iceberg hit. So they had to have felt the shudder first. The first class rooms where more far away so just a few heard or felt the shudder. Some didn't feel anything, but they found out soon enough.
