Godfather to Harry, Sirius was a best friend of Harry's dad, James. He is an animagus that can turn into a ferocious black dog named Padfoot. He was sent to Azkaban for allegedly killing 13 people in an explosion, but escaped to protect Harry and prove his innocence.
