AddictingGames (previously trademarked as AddictingGames.com) is a gaming website that was started in 2002 by Ira Willey. It was one of the first Flash game portals and helped popularize both the Flash platform and casual games. AddictingGames.com was acquired by Atom Shockwave and subsequently Viacom in 2007.[1] Today it is part of the MTV Online Network, receiving over 10 million visitors a month.[2] Recently, AddictingGames had an AddictingGames Showdown on Nickelodeon when people voted for the best games.
History
Ira Willey started the site in 2002, seeing the potential in internet flash games. After selling it in 2005, he moved on to a new portal called OneMoreLevel. In his interview on FreeGamesNews Willey noted that OneMoreLevel receives 100,000 visitors daily. Addictinggames.com is now one of the most popular flash game websites.
