Wikipedia: Mike Barz

Mike Barz (born April 9, 1970) was a news anchor at WFLD-TV, the Fox affiliate in Chicago. [1].

Prior to his work at WFLD-TV - Fox Chicago, Mike was the features correspondent for ABC News in the United States and anchored the television network's Good Morning America weather segment after Tony Perkins' departure from the show in 2005 until September 5, 2006 when he was succeeded by Sam Champion. Prior to working on national television, Barz gained regional fame as sports anchor for the morning news program on WGN-TV in Chicago, Illinois. He also experienced work as news anchor at WHBF-TV in Rock Island.

Barz was born in Los Angeles, California to a military family, but moved to the Midwest for an education at Indiana University, from which he graduated in 1993. After graduating, Barz began a broadcast career. After short stints in New York and Illinois, he worked at WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Wisconsin until 1998 when he joined the Tribune Company in Chicago.

In October of that year, Barz was appointed to the company's flagship television station WGN-TV and joined the morning news team, famous for its controversially comedic bent.
