If it had to pick a mascot, Birdsong would probably pick Woodstock from the Peanuts gang. The company's primary operating division, Birdsong Peanuts, is a top US peanut processor. The unit shells raw peanuts (purchased from peanut farmers) and markets them to customers throughout the world. Birdsong Peanuts operates plants in Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia, and it serves food manufacturers including Planters, Smuckers, and Nestlé's candy division. Birdsong was formed in 1974 to consolidate the assets of the Birdsong family, which owns the company.
