(b Moscow, 1969). Russ. pianist. Studied at Moscow Cons. with Eliso Virsaladze and privately with Alexander Satz. Won Gold Medal at Int. Tchaikovsky Comp., Moscow, 1990 and won John Ogdon Prize. Brit. début 1988 (Wigmore Hall recital). Noted duo with Vadim Repin; formed his own pf. trio. Concerto soloist with leading orchs. and conds. throughout Eur. and Asia.
