Danaher Corporation shuffled its reportable segments and now operates through Industrial Technologies (product identification, motion control equipment, and sensors); Test & Measurement (electronic measurement instruments); Environmental (air/water analysis and treatment); Life Sciences & Diagnostics (research/clinical tools); and Dental. Its 50/50 joint venture with Cooper Industries -- Apex Tools -- makes and markets power and mechanics' hand tools and wireless technologies. Danaher operates in about 50 countries, but it makes more than half its revenues in the US. The two Rales brothers, Steven (board chairman) and Mitchell (executive committee chairman), together own more than 17% of the company.
