An independent oil and gas exploration and production company, Delta Petroleum has been dealt a good hand in estimated proved reserves in the Rocky Mountains and the Gulf Coast. In 2008 it reported reserves of 884.4 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent, 95% of which is in the Rocky Mountains. The company also has major assets in the Gulf Coast region. It has oil and gas leasehold properties covering approximately 893,000 net undeveloped acres.
