Evergreen Energy wants to fuel the advancement of efficient, environmentally friendly power generation. The company, operating through subsidiaries, deploys a process known as K-Fuel that uses heat and pressure to transform low-energy value coal and other feedstocks into high-energy fuel for power plants. After low-grade coal has been through the K-Fuel process, it can be used without causing power plants to violate pollution standards. Evergreen's C-Lock process, which it calls GreenCert, is a Web-based platform that tracks carbon emissions to be used to quantify carbon emission credits. Evergreen is working to commercialize its key technologies through strategic partnerships.
