FOCUS Enhancements is all about a clear picture. The company offers digital video products including video production recorders and converters, media asset management software, and digital video players. Its products are sold to US resellers and distributors and directly to manufacturers. FOCUS Enhancements filed for Chapter 11 protection from creditors in 2008, and emerged the following year. In July 2010 France-based VITEC Multimedia bought the systems business of FOCUS Enhancements, which then spun off its audio and video chip operations, including its TV encoder business, as Summit Semiconductors.
