Fe-liss'i-a. A large genus of chiefly South African subshrubs (rarely annuals).

Description
Leaves alternate or opposite, or sometimes in rosettes. Flowerheads showy, usually blue, and radiating.

How to Grow
The species below need cool weather and well-drained, average to dry soil; best suited to West Coast and cool northern gardens. Start seeds indoors in spring. Set out in full sun after danger of frost is past.

Blue Marguerite ; Blue Daisy . Bushy shrub, 1-3 ft. (30-90 cm) high. Flowerheads solitary, daisylike, 1 in. (2.5 cm) wide, the numerous rays blue to purple, the small disk flowers yellow. Also sold as Agathea coelestis . South Africa. Half-hardy annual.

Kingfisher Daisy . 4-8 in. (10-20 cm) high. Flowerheads bright blue, solitary, ¾ in. (19 mm) wide. Good for window boxes. South Africa. Half-hardy annual.
