Giacomo, the three-year-old son of Holy Bull, rocked the world of thoroughbred racing when he improbably won the 131st Kentucky Derby on May 8, 2005, at odds of 50 to 1. The colt, owned by Jerry and Ann Moss, trained by John Shirreffs and ridden by jockey Mike Smith, hadn't won a race in six months. He is named for Giacomo Sumner, 9, the son of rock star Sting.
