Global Med Technologies doesn't shrink from the sight of blood. Through subsidiary Wyndgate Technologies, the company develops information management software that tracks blood donations and manages information for blood banks, transfusion centers, hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities. Global Med's SafeTrace software keeps track of blood products from donor recruitment through shipment and includes transfusion management information systems. PeopleMed.com, an 83%-owned subsidiary of Global Med, offers Internet-based applications that help provide disease management for patients with chronic diseases. In 2010 Haemonetics acquired Global Med for about $60 million in cash.
