Heterozostera is a genus of seagrasses which contain four species.[1]
Heterozostera are aquatic herbs which are completely submerged in marine environments. Three species are found in Australia; Heterozostera tasmanica is found in shores of Tasmania and the Eastern states. H. nigricaulis is widely distributed in temperate waters, and H. polychlamys is confined to western and southern coasts. Heterozostera chilensis derives its specific epithet from its occurrence in Chile.[2][3]
