German family of artists. Theodor Janssen (b J?bborde, E. Frisia, 21 June 1816; d D?sseldorf, 21 June 1894) worked as an engraver at the K?niglich Preussische Kunstakademie in D?sseldorf. His two sons, (1) Peter Janssen and (2) Karl Janssen, were also artists.
