Jinpan International does not make movies about futuristic robots, but it does cast transformers. The cast resin transformers, used in electric power distribution networks, decrease voltage from its higher increased levels at the end of transmission lines (necessary for long-distance travel) to a compatible level for its end users. One of the largest manufacturers of cast resin transformers in China, Jinpan sells its products almost exclusively in that country, where the government is rebuilding and repairing electric power generation and distribution networks.
