Kristina (Janáček: The Makropulos Case). Mezzo-Soprano. Daughter of Vítek, clerk to the barrister Dr Kolenatý. She is a singing student and is besotted by the famous opera singer Emilia Marty, whom she watches at rehearsal. Kristina is in love with Janek Prus, son of one of the contenders in the long lawsuit, but tells him they must give up their relationship so that she can concentrate on the higher things of life - her music.
