1. Father of Palti(el) of Gallim to whom Saul gave his daughter Michal, the wife of David. She was later restored to David by Ishbosheth.
2. A Canaanite town conquered by the Danites, who changed its name to Dan (Judg chap. 18). The town, situated near the sources of the River Jordan, was apparently under Sidonian hegemony when it was overrun by 600 members of the tribe of Dan, who were forced northwards by the expanding Philistines. See DAN No. 2.
3. A Benjamite village, placed between Gallim and Anathoth in Isaiah 10:30. Its possible location is present-day el-Isawiyah, northeast of Jerusalem.
