LifeCell puts new life into the tissue graft market. The firm makes skin graft materials processed from cadaver skin, a category of products known as allografts. Its products include AlloDerm, used in reconstructive plastic, dental, and burn surgeries and Strattice Reconstructive Tissue Matrix, for plastic and reconstructive surgery and wound healing. LifeCell markets a series of other products for additional applications, including one called Cymetra for grafting and head and neck plastic reconstruction. The company markets its products in the US and abroad through a direct sales force and distributors. LifeCell is owned by wound care company Kinetic Concepts.
