Parthenium incanum (common name Mariola or New Mexico rubber plant) is a plant in the genus Parthenium of the family Asteraceae.

Human uses

The Jicarilla used Mariola for a medicine which was rubbed over pregnant women's abdomens to relieve discomfort. The medicine was prepared by boiling this plant's leaves (Opler 1946: 8).
