Biography

While most artists are happy to attain success within the boundaries of one particular art form, Cee Cee Michaela crosses all boundaries, having attained success as an actress as well as a singer. And she writes books on occasion as well. Michaela's talent obviously knows no limits. Since her youth when she graduated high school in North Carolina as an honors student and proceeded to win scholarships in college, Michaela has over-achieved. After earning a bachelor of fine arts degree in musical theater from the Boston Conservatory of Music, she took a Greyhound bus to New York City and began working on Broadway. Her professional career as an actress flourished in New York, where she won awards and began acting on many television shows: the Steve Harvey Show, City of Angels, Chicago Hope, Promised Land, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Strong Medicine, Party of Five, Girlfriends, and more. In addition to her acting, Michaela also performs music as a singer/songwriter. Her songs have been featured on several television shows -- Girlfriends, Party of Five, Time of Your Life, Promised Land -- and she releases albums through her own independent label, Driven By a Vision Records. Moreover, she also publishes books such as I'm Just an Alien and Other Alienated Poetry. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide

Wikipedia: Michaela

Michaela is an Irish, English, German, Czech, and Slovak given name. It is a feminine form of Michael, which means "who is like God?"[1]. Its Hebrew root is מִיכָאֵל consisting of the letters Mem, Yud, Chaf, Aleph, Lamed, and He.

It was rare in any country until it became fashionable in the German-speaking world, i.e. Germany, Austria in the 1960s and 1970s, e.g. German actress Michaela May. Its use spread to Middle and North Europe, then the United Kingdom and the United States, where its popularity peaked in 1997, the year in which the popular TV series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman first aired in the U.S. The series' lead character was named Michaela Quinn. American spelling variants include Michaela,Michaella, Michayla, Mikayla, Makayla, Mikaela, Macayla, and Mckayla, suggesting that some parents see it as an elaborated form of Kayla or Cayla. In the UK, it is sometimes shortened to "Mickie" or "Mickey."

Michela is the Italian form of the name, and Mikaela is the Scandinavian form, while Micaela is the Spanish and Miguelina is also used in Spain and Portugal. Mihaela the Romanian form. It can also appear as Mikhaila or Machaila. The name has several pronunciations, the most popular Mi-KAY-la also followed by mi-KAI-la (German), mee-KAH-ee-lah (Italian), ma-KAY-la and the very rare mih-KEL-lah.
