Nationwide Financial Services (NFS) is the holding company for Nationwide Life Insurance and is itself held by insurance giant Nationwide Mutual. NFS offers such long-term savings and retirement products as annuities, life insurance, and institutional products. The name is somewhat misleading because NFS is not a disk file system that reads and writes the disk sectors, but enables the operating system to view files on computers in the network as if they were local.
