Jerry L. Ogles is the Metropolitan Presiding Bishop of the Anglican Orthodox Church. Ogles was ordained to the diaconate by Bishop Robert J. Godfrey on April 27, 1997. He was consecrated as bishop for the USA on 22 October 2000, at St. Peter's Anglican Orthodox Church in Statesville, NC. During the 2002 Convention of the AOC Bishop Ogles was installed as the first Presiding Bishop and Metropolitan of the newly incorporated International Anglican Orthodox Church. The Anglican Orthodox Church seeks to faithfully follow in the tradition of Bishop James Parker Dees who founded a church by the same name in 1963. Through its international communion the Anglican Orthodox Church has fellowship with sister churches in Africa, Asia, Pakistan, India, the Islands of the South Pacific, Canada, and South America.
