The biotech company won its first FDA approval in 2008 with Relistor (methylnatrexone), which blocks the side effects of opioids without lessening their pain-killing power. The drug, which Progenics developed in collaboration with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now part of Pfizer), was approved as a treatment for opioid-induced constipation in terminally ill patients.
