Check for current with a test light. Bypass the switch under the pedal & try depressing with your finger. These are adjustable 7 perhaps pedal travel insufficient to depress button far enough.
To the right of the heat/air levers
I had the same problem with my 1987 Trans Am GTA. The turn signal indicator has gone bad and needs to be replaced. That will get the brake lights working again.
Check for a brake light fuse
The tail lights are on a separate wiring than the blinker/brake lights. Look for a blown fuse or a broken/loose wire.
Check the flasher.
im having the same problem on a 89 Camry already replaced the yellow box lamp failure sensor found at junk yard for 50bucks dealer wanted 250 but the lights still are not working
Check bulbs larger filament on dual filament bulb Do parking and dash lights work? May be same circuit - check fuses Maybe switch is defective
Any time you have an strange problem with lights it is a poor ground. Your tail lights are back feeding through the brake lights instead of going to ground. I would start by running a jumper wire to the tail light and brake light ground and I would guess the problem would be fixed. You might also want to look at your break light failure indicator. It commonly goes bad in these models.
If you are talking about the dash indicator light, it should go out if all the brake lights are functioning properly. Don't forget the brake light in the rear window.
a fuse or fulty wiring the brake lights are useually out the same time as the dash lights if that helps any
I would check to see if there is a switch down by the brake peddle. If the switch is bad it won't let current get to the lights. I would try bypassing the switch (if there is one) and see if the lights come on.
Check your fuses as this is very common when an after market stereo is installed.
