We have a 5 speed Pontiac grand am we were told that we need to change the transmission fluids we didn't know we had that. The question is do we have one and how much will it cost us.
I have a 1999 Potiac Grand Am SE, and I cannot find the transmission dip stick to check the transmission fluid.
Fluid is added through the dip stick reciever.
Nope, there is a low fluid sensor that will alert you when necessary.
Add automatic transmission fluid through the dip stick tube. No kidding!
there is no dip stick, there is a plug under the transmission that you have to take out and if fluid comes out it is full, it is only a 1/4 inch plug.
left side of the block, back of the oil dip stick.
to add transmission fluid, pour it down the tube where the dip stick goes. Not the dip stick for the motor oil, but the transmission fluid. It is located by the fire wall under the hood. I use a funnel attached to a hose to stick in the tube, makes it a whole lot easier.
Most newer automatic transmissions do not use a dipstick.
Remove the transmission dip stick and pour the fluid down the dipstick pipe. The procedure is the same for all automatic transmissions.
I have a 1999 Grand am se and it dont have a dipstick but it do have a red transmission fluid top on the right side of the 3400 sign that could be unscrewed but it don't have anything on it to check the fluid but you could stick your finger in it to see if its anything in it
The red dipstick is the transmission fluid dipstick. Simply use a funnel and add fluid to this tube. Check the fluid level as per the owner manual with the engine/transmission warm. Do not overfill.
there is no dip stick. i changed my fluid and filter. i just put in the recommended amount minus a half quart or so since there will still be old fluid left in lines. the refill hole is a big nut on top of trans.
