You have the classic symptoms of a bad coil pack! Have been thru this about 6 times in the last 8 years. Check them. Could also not hurt to check fuel pressure/fuel filter
Could be your crank sensor. These are very common to fail on these cars.
It will be on the back side of the engine where the distributor used to be on older engines.
IF... the crank sensor was the problem then it might. However, it is unlikely. I agree, although they are known to crack, It usually results in a no start condition from what I have seen.

The Chevrolet Corsica 3.1 liter engine crank sensor can be found on the back of the engine. You will need to remove the rear engine cover in order to access the crank sensor.

On 3.1L Engines it is on the front of the engine above the starter mounted in the engine block. On 2.2L engines it is above the oil filter mounted in the engine block.

a Chevy 350 crank is a Chevy 305 crank. they have the same stroke, 3.48 inches, and are interchangable. swapping between the two cranks does not change the engines displacement
