First decide if its fuel or spark oriented. Pull the spark plug wire from one of the plugs and put a screw driver in it. Then lay it down near a metal piece and try to start the motor. If it has a spark then the problem is with the fuel system. If no spark then work on the electrical. Check cables fuses and components for power.
If there is spark then the fuel pump needs to be checked first. Inside the engine compartment is a diagnostic connection on the passenger side. Open it and find the one for the fuel pump. It starts with a F.
Try to start the motor and see if you have 12 volts. If not then check the fuses and relay in the box next to the connector marked EFI. With the key on, pull the relay in and out and you should hear it click. If it doesn't its bad or not getting power. Swap it with another one in the same area and confirm it does the same thing. Check the fuse next to it also.
If this all looks good then there is a relay by the fuse box that is the open circuit relay. Check this and see if it checks OK. Swapping it with the one from the EFI area is OK to do.

If it's a 1992 V6 4Runner with an automatic transmission, the three wire speed sensor for the speedometer is located on the extension housing of the transmission.
It could be your coil but then again I would have to see it to know.
