My 91 Legend was doing the same thing. I had the driver's side (since that's where it seemed to be coming from) CV axle replaced. It fixed the problem!! Go figure. The axle never did click as they usually do, but I have heard of this happening before. Mines had gotten so rough it sometimes felt like the car was on flat or even about to fall apart.
noise and jolting is present whilst car is idolling and accelerating
I get knocking & ping noise coming from the fuel injectors
The engines timing could be advanced to much. If it's a front wheel drive a CV joint could be going bad. Knowing a more precise area of where the sound is coming from might help to identify the problem.
it coming out on march 18, 2008
No, when anything is slowing down it is decelerating.
if it sounds like the knocking is coming from the bottom of the engine i would bet it was the rods or rod bearings may be worn. if the knocking is on the top ,then i would have the lifters and or the rocker arms checked.
My 2000 Grand Prix would have a low-speed knocking noise coming from the drivers side as the CV axle was failing. The loss of lubrication in the CV Boots allows the joint to make a knocking/tapping sound at a low speed. If the knocking is coming from the engine compartment, then it could be an entirely different problem.
A other small child
