Aerobic processes consume oxygen to generate energy. Anaerobic processes do not. Both generate energy, but anaerobic processes are less efficient, both generating less energy and leaving more excess junk behind.

Aerobic energy is energy that is used with a big intake of oxygen into the body for example a marathon. Anaerobic energy is energy that is used with a lack of oxygen into the body for example a short sprint.

Aerobic respiration is respiration in the presence of oxygen, and anaerobic respiration is when no oxygen is present.

In aerobic respiration, carbon dioxide is produced. In anaerobic respiration, lactate is produced in muscles of mammals, and ethanol is produced in organisms such as yeasts.
