It sounds as tho you have a water problem, your engine may be overheating and semi seizing. Before you do some severe damage to the engine go to a Mechanic and get his opinion. It may be best if you go to a dealer mechanic, or a Auto Club mechanic.
1996 sierra 2500 heats up going up hills but not on level or down gerades
Blown head gasket, cracked head, or both. STOP driving this car or you will destroy the engine. Have this repaired ASAP.
Chances are your thermostat is stuck open. Your cars thermostat sits in a coolant passage. When the car is running your coolant begins to heat up, and at a certain temperature your thermostat opens up and lets coolant flow to the radiator to dispel the heat of the engine to the air. When your thermostat is stuck open, instead of the coolant staying in the engine until it heats up it is constantly circulating through the radiator transferring heat to the atmosphere. When your cars sits still it heats up because the amount of air passing through the radiator is minimal, but as you begin to drive the air flow is increased.
Need to change your thermastat i have done that but still over heats when driving

That is an engine block heater. It heats the engine coolant.
Well, driving at highway speeds in any vehicle in 2nd gear, will raise the RPM of the engine, meaning that the engine is working that much harder to maintain the speed. As the engine constantly revs at a higher RPM, it heats up alot quicker, which in the end could do alot of damage to your car. And if its a Lexus, i would advise to SWITCH gears and keep an eye on your RPM and temperature gauge
crack the engine block and oil mixes with water or antifreeze.
This could be for any reason. Such as things like water in the engine. Or perhaps there is a problem with the battery and it over heats. This is usually the reason.
it might be the belt
It decreases
Your thermostat is stuck closed. you will need to replace it. The thermostat controls the circulation through the radiator - when the engine heats up the thermostat is meant to switch circulation from just-engine to engine+radiator. Sounds like this isn't happening.
