Amsterdam is known for having 'relaxed laws' on marijuana and prostitution.
Bicycles are used as a main source of transportation.
It also has a lot of notable museums like the Van Gogh and Rembrandt museum.
Queens day is a big celebration in Amsterdam and it takes place on the 29th or 30th of April every year. Everyone dresses in orange. It is famous for having the Anne Frank House, which you can visit. The palace is situated on the Dam Square that also has a large monument on it and every year on the 5th of May people gather there to be silent for 5 minutes in honor of everyone who died in WW2. This day is referred to as remembrance day. Amsterdam has a lot of canals and bridges crossing them.
