No - the protein (or Lecithin) they use is soy based. For anyone interested, a tiny portion of Soy (one example being 2.2 percent in a hamburger) has been linked to five child deaths in Sweden; the scariest part of this little known fact is that the children had not previously displayed any allergic reactions to Soy until the consumption of the fatal meal. Of the hamburger case, the girl victim was asthmatic, and it's been speculated that asthmatics are at more of a risk than some others.

I found soy in saltwater taffy, go figure.
