Are There Alternatives To Chemotherapy?
There are many different ways to treat cancer, so yes, there are alternatives to chemotherapy, but bear in mind that if your oncologist has recommended chemotherapy it is because that is the treatment which is best suited to your particular medical needs. However, cancer can also be treated with surgery, with radiation, or less aggressively with palliative care. Some specific cancers have other specific treatments, such as the treatment of breast cancer with tamoxifen. New techniques are being researched all the time. Thalidomide has been used successfully to inhibit the growth of tumors.

Chemotherapy works by stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells, which can spread and divide quickly. Another way to explain this is to say chemotherapy typically ref…ers to the destruction of cancer cells. However, chemotherapy may also include the use of antibiotics or other medications to treat any illness or infection. Chemotherapy acts by killing cells that divide rapidly, one of the main properties of cancer cells. This means that it also harms cells that divide rapidly under normal circumstances such as hair follicles, thereby resulting in hair loss of some patients.

You have alternatives when there is more than one possibility and you can choose between at least two things.
Chemotherapy is the use of chemical agents to treat or control disease or mental illness. Sometimes the medical establishment fights cancer with a cancer causing substanc…e: radiation. This has the effect of burning the body internally as well as risking stimulating more cancer. Chemotherapy is when a toxin is instead injected directly into the patient, believing that it will only kill the cancer (and weaker) cells. Chemotherapy suppresses the immune system and creates greater acidosis, which is likely to stimulate even more cancer. In fighting cancer the establishment has used the following methods historically: 1. Smoking (cigarettes) 2. Radiation 3. Surgery and Chemotherapy The most recent strategy is surgery combined with chemotherapy, which stimulates cancers to spread though the blood to additional organs. Someone who survives this for a mere 5 years is considered a "cancer survivor", and a success. I really could not make this stuff up. Google for more information about how doctors recommended brands of cigarettes based upon their health benefits in the 1940's and 1950's. Wait... it gets better. They also tell patients to use sunscreen even though vitamin D is produced in the skin when it is exposed to sunlight. Naturally occurring vitamin D is one of the greatest anti-cancer agents.
Radiotherapy is the process of applying radiation on the tumors [gamma rays]. Chemotherapy is the process of using drugs to destroy the tumors. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy u…sually comes with surgery; it also appears more frequently in higher stages of cancer [stages 3, 4].
