They are overprotective because they don't want their babies to get hurt just the same as humans. so yup.
There is no such thing as being overprotective when you are a mother cat. but a mother cat will protect her kittens.
I can't really give you an accurate answer. It really depends on the cat. Some males tend to be a bit aggressive, because he doesn't like the kits because it makes it so he can't mate with the mother cat. Some can be REALLY aggressive and kill the kits just so he can mate with the mother cat. But believe it, male cats out there actually HELP the mother cat. Not that many though. Majority of males don't really care, but it's best to keep males away from mothers and kits. Even if he has been around them, and never has caused trouble, keep males away from them just in case.
That's the simplest way I can put it for you. All males are different, but keep them away just incase. So try keeping the mother cat and kits inside, so no strays spot them, and if you have a male cat, then keep the kits and mom in a safe room. Like a bathroom or laundry room, because some males will set off without any signs.
That's as simple as I can explain it :)
Answer: Mother cats are often defensive and agressive. When the kittens grow up and the mother cat stops caring for them, her behavior should return to normal.
A mother cat nursing her kittens is often referred to as a "queen."
yes but sometimes that's not the case. some mother cats cant have more kittens.
They will be quite protective of the kittens until hey are weaned, but will thereafter revert to their old personality.
It usually takes about nine weeks for a mother cat to have her kittens.
vinegar
yes, but only slighty for mother cats do not have much memory of their kittens if they are given away at an early age.
Yes when they are kittens as the mother puts her scent on the kittens to recognise them.
Mother cats will separate the afterbirth from the kittens during the birthing process.
Some mother cats will do just that but not as a rule, they will feel the loss of one of their kittens the same as a human would feel, this is why there is saying that some people use to describe an "unfit mother" Cats make better mothers than her!" not a nice saying , but there it is.
only if a human touches the kittens right after they are born this is not entirelt true, for unknown reasons cats eat their kittens as well, it is said that cats can sence if their kittens are ill and will eat the sick ones
Whatever they are doing that to reminds them of their mother. They think that they will get milk when they do that. It's not just kittens, cats of all ages do it.
