Followers of Islam are subject to the secular laws, so nothing that imams might say can override a child's rights under law. In Western countries, a child of any age is entitled to seek help from police or other appropriate agencies if his or her rights are being abused. It is only in those few countries that enforce shariah law that secular rights are not paramount.
