Most of them are. Some are docile, and some are vicious (but not harmful). Most of them can be handled even when they are wild. Beware though. Make sure you know which species you are dealing with, because some will strike at you with their spiky little forelegs. It won't hurt most of the time, but it is not particularly pleasant either. If you go to interact with one and it gets up in a defensive positions (with its forearms raised, or striking), it is best to leave it alone, bt if it does not show any aggression, ir it only sways slightly, you are free to pick it up. Most will not harm you, and many mantid species even make good pets. #SML
