The so-called "truck ban" on The Garden State Parkway actually addresses ALL vehicles (not just 'trucks') with a gross vehicle weight rating over 7000 pounds (i.e.: the vehicle's maximum fully-loaded weight including fuel, passengers and cargo), and "commercial" vehicles (which could apply to ANY size vehicle bearing commercial license tags, cars included).

Technically, this encompasses several large passenger-type vehicles (e.g.: some large SUV's - Chevy/GMC Suburbans, Ford Expeditions, Hummers, etc.) which can weigh in at 8,500 pounds GVW, though in practice the police do not ticket such vehicles.

Also, passenger buses are allowed to travel the entire length of the Parkway.

In view of the above, and the fact fact that passenger buses are allowed the entire length of the parkway, it would appear that motor homes (which in themselves, are 'bus-like') would be allowed.

Yes, except on the very northern portion of the Parkway (I can't remember past which exit) commercial-type vehicles bearing signs or ladder racks or other "commercial" type appearances are banned. Regular pickups are okay.

It may depend on the type and weight of the RV.

Commercial trucks with a registered weight of over 7,000 pounds (3.18 tons) are not allowed to use the northern parts of the Parkway. All trucks must exit at Exit 105, just past the Asbury Park Toll Plaza. From Tinton Falls to the southern end of the Parkway at Cape May, trucks are allowed, but must pay additional tolls. Buses are allowed for the entire length of the Parkway The "truck" ban includes all vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (the vehicle's maximum fully-loaded weight including fuel, passengers and cargo) over 7000 pounds, which encompasses dozens of large passenger vehicles, such as the Chevy Suburban, which can weigh in at 8,500 pounds, however in actual practice police do not ticket such vehicles.

Yes. Truck restrictions only apply to commercial trucks. So, while an F350 used for commercial purposes wouldn't be allowed on that parkway, a weekend warrior in an F350 with a gooseneck travel trailer can use it, as can the weekend warrior in a 40 ft. motorhome. What sense that makes is beyond me, but, then again, what about the state of New Jersey ever made sense to begin with?

Not those with advertising on the sides. I can't remember the name of the toll plaza beyond which they cannot go, but it's northermost stretch going into NY State.
