No. Atheism is not a religion, it is a term to describe those who don't believe in a supernatural being or beings. Many atheists follow a similar moral code but this differs among individuals.

Atheism is largely misunderstood by the rest of the faiths in a number of ways. As it is defined, atheism is: The disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of a god or gods. "Places of worship" are places where individuals who believe in a god or gods go to communicate with their gods via prayer or to show respect of them. With no "one" to worship, there is no place to worship one.

This depends on the kind of Atheist we are talking about. Atheism is the rejection of all currently made god claims. Beyond that there is no core belief system. There are numerous categories of Atheists who add belief systems to create a moral system since the religious moral system is no longer applicable. While there are many types of Atheists, the three most common are Rationalist Skeptics, State-Religionists, and Apatheists.

Rationalist Skeptics

The most prominent type of Atheists today are Rationalist Skeptics who believe that empirical results and the scientific method can be used to determine whether something is true or false and that information can be plugged into some sort of utilitarian system in order to determine its morality. The "Four Horsemen" of Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, and Dan Dennett are seen as leaders of the current incarnation of Rationalist Skepticism.

Most Rationalist Skeptics do not have a place of worship or coming together as a community. However, there is a minority among the Rationalist Skeptics who are forming "churches" in order to have a place to gather and sing together, but it is still not worship as that is commonly understood.

State-Religionists
Another type of Atheists are the State-Religionists, who believe in the validity of the founding ideals of a state or a political system as being the arbiter of moral justice. State-Religionists are usually termed as "nationalists" or "patriots" and have been behind most of the major democides of the 20th century, the Soviet democide, the Chinese democide, the Cambodian democide, etc. North Korea's Juche is often considered to be a state-religion which has actually crossed back into a Theistic Faith since it deifies Kim Il-Sung and his progeny.

Most State-Religionists do engage in some sort of communal patriotic activity such as shouting patriotic chants or gathering in specific public plazas at set times. This could be seen as some form of worship of the state. However, there are not small buildings whose use is specifically designed to be a house of worship as that term is commonly understood.

Apatheists
Still another type of Atheist is the Apatheist, which is person who does not believe in gods because he or she does not care to investigate the question, seeing it as irrelevant. The largest number of Apatheists are Atheist Buddhists, since the Buddha was himself an Apatheist according to his own writings.

If an Apatheist actually belongs to a religious group, such as Atheist Buddhists or Atheist Hindus, these people will occasionally engage in worship or meditation in holy places for the adherents of that faith, even if they do not believe in any deities. An apatheist who is not a member of a larger religious community typically does not go to houses of worship and is disinterested in the religious project.

Do atheist churches have a 501-C?

First, as others have noted, most Atheists do not go to church. However, assuming that you are talking about "Community Mission Chapel" led by Atheist former-Pastor Jerry DeWitt, or similar institutions, which provide a "church-like" atmosphere for Atheists who still want that, these have incredible difficulty in achieving 501-C status. Most religious organizations fall neatly into a 501(c)(3) because its activities clearly have a religious purpose. Conversely, Atheist Churches do not have such a clear religious purpose since they start from the premise that they do not pertain to any religion. There are other grounds for granting 501(c)(3) status, which include: charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering amateur sports competition, or preventing cruelty to children or animals. None of those seem to apply to an Atheist Church. You could make a weak argument that an Atheist Church is educational, but given that there are no certified teachers, no curriculum, or anything similar, that argument would likely fail. The other 501(c) groupings are even less applicable.
