Are there more herbivores or carnivores in the Serengeti?
i believe there are more omnivores source www.wikipedia.org
Simply put, carnivores are higher up on the food chain. So, there are naturally less because there is less food. The "scientific" reason for this has to do with trophic leve…ls. As the trophic level increases, energy is lost as biomass. Carnivores are in one of the top trophic levels because they are secondary or tertiary consumers. Herbivores are primary consumers. They feed directly from plants which there is a greater abundance of because they make their own food.
carnivores are animals which eat animals while herbivores are animals which eat plant and every one knows that plants are an easy source of food with this herbivores increase …in numbers as there is plenty and easy to get food and carnivores stay at a low number as it is difficult to catch there food
omnivores eat both. carnivores eat meat. herbivores eat plants.
I think there is a pretty even amount of carnivores and herbivores. There might be a bit more herbivores because they need more of their species to survive, since the carnivor…es hunt them.
yes it does for them to survive
One carnivore can eat lots of herbivores so the number of predators always has to be lower than the number of prey. If the number of carnivores gets bigger than their pr…ey some will die of starvation and the number will reduce again.
Carnivourus, but I suppose ti depends on wheher it's a land or water specimen.
The environment can support more herbivores than carnivores. The carnivores keep the prey species numbers in check. Too many carnivores mean ultimate starvation.
No, unless the carnivores themselves are cannibalistic. Otherwise, a health ecosystem thrives on there being less carnivores than herbivores.
In a North American forest, there are more herbivores, but most of them are rodents.
Herbivores. In a food chain, energy is passed from one link toanother. When a herbivore eats, only a fraction of the energy (thatit gets from the plant food) becomes new body …mass; the rest of theenergy is lost as waste or used up by the herbivore to carry outits life processes (e.g., movement, digestion, reproduction). Therefore, when the herbivore is eaten by a carnivore, it passesonly a small amount of total energy (that it has received) to thecarnivore.
No. Herbivores always outnumber the carnivores in an ecosystem.
The herbivore will get more energy.
