Every child that is born is Muslim. People change when they grow up, A person has to believe in Allah, His messengers, the last day (day of Resurrection, the angles and the Holy Quran to be a Muslim. A person cannot be Muslim by name, he is Muslim by deeds.

Like all other religions, the child is born on the religion of his father, or mother, or both until he reaches puberty or beyond puberty age where he can chose to remain on his religion or to convert. Muslims not an exception. A Muslim must believe in Allah (God), His messengers, His Angels, His holy books, the last day (day of Resurrection, and the destiny. Answer:

No. A Muslim man is not a Muslim unless he believes - of his own choosing - and practices Islam. You do not become a Muslim simply by being born into it. It is not inherited. It is a belief and it is a way of life. Your father could be Muhammad the Messenger of God - but if you do not believe and practice Islam then you would not be a Muslim. Simple as that.

It takes a child a long time to realize what religion to practice and until that time he's considered to be a [whatever his father is], and whatever his parents raises him to be.

Answer:

My parents were "Muslim" by name. They did not practice and never taught me. I grew up doing everything the non-Muslims did. Everything. I was guided to Islam at the age of twenty-three. It was a complete surprise to me. Now: was I a Muslim before that? Is it enough, for Allah, that a person is Muslim by name, or does He consider one to be a Muslim who testifies to the Shahadah and makes the daily prayers? As a child I would have been, because every child is "Muslim" - especially if I had been raised as one; but after the age of responsibility I would NOT have been a Muslim because I knew nothing and I did nothing. Had I died beyond around the age of thirteen or so, I would have died outside of Islam.

Answer 1

Not if you live a country like the US that has freedom of religion. Although there is usually family pressure for a person to follow the faith of his fathers, there is no way to make a person follow his father's religion and many do not.

Answer 2

In Islam if your parents or at least your father is Muslim, so you are subsequently Muslim by theory, but whether you live in a Muslim country or not, no one can press on you to practice islam or not, because islam is a relation between the human being and Allah (God). Being muslim or not, practice it or not, all this is something between you and your God, concerning relationship between people from different ethnies, sympathy is all about.

Answer 3

According to Islam, as a legal matter (the Shari'a), you inherent Islam from your father (the same way that you inherit citizenship in many countries). Whether or not you pray and believe in Islam is something that cannot be compelled, but in most Islamic countries, your identity cards will state your religion, making your identity as Muslim a national legal matter (not just a personal one). Many Muslim converts to Christianity, especially in Egypt are barred from changing their legal identification from Muslim to Christian. This is especially problematic for male converts since even if they marry a Christian woman and only practice Christianity, their children will all be legally Muslim.

Well, if I were you, I would definitely go for neither, but if you absolutely had to, I'd go with Ali. Husain is the last name of Saddam Hussein, and I don't think you want your son to be associated with that. Its okay to have both. Its not like they will make fun of your son. If they do threaten them lol. NO don't! If your Muslim its okay Allah will be happy! Its good to name your son a Muslim name if your Muslim!ps. Ali sounds cooler!
