This romantic and popular dance was a favorite all over the country of the Philippines. Cariñosa means affectionate, lovable, or amiable. This dance is interesting and enjoyable, because of the way the dancers perform it. This Cariñosa dance is performed with a fan or handkerchief. This dance involves romantic steps like showing and expressing feelings and some flirting acts together with your partner. This makes every Filipino, especially the young people, get more interested in their culture. This dance is really good, especially if the dancers performed it very well. Cariñosa has a lot of different versions. If you are a creative person, you could make another version of this dance. Today, some Filipinos consider this as the Philippine national dance next to Tinikling. More Info: Cariñosa - WikiPilipinas: The Hip 'n Free Philippine Encyclopedia

Nobody seems to dance the Cariñosa outside of the Philippines! It's only a few Filipinos overseas who actually know this dance and that it's the National Dance not Tinikling. Also I find not many Filipinos know the proper steps. Theres many versions of the Cariñosa, and all are pretty hard, clever and flirtatious yet most of the ones I see in the internet like YouTube are very basic and sometimes terrible.

Here's one that I really like, it seems to be the Bicol version because it uses the abanico instead of the pañuelo to show the hide and seek movements: Cariñosa
