Been w my husband 16 yrs n married now for 11. MIL sends b'day n Christmas presents to his ex they were only married for 5 yrs and has now put up a picture of the ex in living rm. What does this mean?

I agree. And if you were unable after being with him for 16 years, to put a stop to the gifts, you should have seen that big red flag waving. I would guess that you have suspected something for a long time and either ignored it or thought he would change...something like that. When you talk to him about this, listen carefully to the reasons he gives you. It will tell you everything you need to know about your relationship with him, including how much respect he has for you and your feelings and how important those things are to your relationship with him. It is NOT normal healthy behavior on his part and don't let him try to sell you on your own insecurity over "just a friendship". Unfortunately, if he does want to understand that his behavior is putting your marriage in jeopardy, you have to save yourself and get the hell out.
