On a normal three phase motor on the nameplate there is a value in the S.F. box. This is the service factor. Depending on the size of the motor this value will vary. Smaller size motors usually have a service factor of 1.15

Vlotage on motor name plate is line or phase voltage?

The voltage tag on a motor says 120 or 220 volt and some motors have jumpers to wire it for either one. That is the supply line voltage. The motor knows how to use that. If the plate says three phase is required then consult your electic supply Company for a three phase supply line.

How many amps does a 5 hp 208 volt 3 phase motor draw?

read the name plate on the motor

What are the calculation for overload relay for three phase motor?

If a motor 3 phase or single phase goes above the full load amps that is on the nameplate of the motor then it is in overload condition. This is usually caused by trying to drive machinery with less horsepower that the manufacturer recommends To protect the motor from this condition overload heaters are put in series with the supply voltage and the motor leads. If the current from the motor draws more that the motor's nameplate FLA then the overload heater opens the supply voltage through use of a motor contactor. The contactor can not be closed again until the motor overload heaters cool down and by the same token the motor gets a chance to cool down. This condition is rectified by either using a bigger HP rated motor or lowering the load on the machinery that the motor is driving.

Why use clutch plate in single phase motor?

induction motors have very little starting torque as the motor come up to speed it reduces the torque load until it gets near synchronous speed

How can you get a three phase output from 110v from step down transformer?

You can't. Three phase is a different animal. You'll either need to:drop in 3 phase power (expensive proposition),run a motor that drives a 3 phase generator. (another expensive proposition)FYI, the alternator in your vehicle is 3 phase, then it's converted to DC using a diode plate.

How can you determine if a electric motor is 1 phase or 3 phase if there is no name plate?

Check the motor's terminal box. If there are three service input cables - such as red, yellow and blue - plus an earth wire, then it is a three phase motor. If there are only two wires plus an earth wire, then it is single phase.

How many amps does a 5 hp 208 volt 3 phase motor draw?

read the name plate on the motor

How do you find out 3 phase motor watts?

It should me stamped on the information plate. If this is not on it, then there will be the running current stamped on the plate. Multiply this by the supply voltage to find the power in watts. Take the horsepower of the motor and multiply it by 746. There are 746 watts in 1 HP. It is also the same for single phase motors.

What size breaker do you use for a furnace?

It depends on the rating of the furnace. There should be a plate or sticker somewhere on the furnace that shows the rating. If you are just powering a blower motor the rating will be lower than if you have an electric heating element.

Know how to wire up a 7.5 signal phase motor 240 volts 6 wires?

do you mean a 7.5 amp 240 volt....there is no such thing as a 7.5 signal phase motor that i have ever heard of...but this may help if you can't locate the plate on the side of the motor for the wiring diagram, look on the inside of the (junction box)

What size outboard motor should a 17 ft fiberglass boat weighing 800 pounds have?

it should probs have a motor beetween 70 and 115hp check the hp rating on your boat on the capacity plate

You have a DC motor with no name plate details you are only aware of the Armature voltage and Field voltage the rpm of the motor is 1800 you need to find the rated kw of the motor With above details o?

No can do until you can provide the current rating in Amperes.
