Yes just use the last years tax forms for this purpose. In the year 2010 you would use the 2009 tax forms to file for the 2009 tax year income tax return.

“need to file last year's and this year's CT State tax only???”

I didn't file last year how can i claim both years?

You need to file two tax returns:A delinquent (late) return for the prior year, filed on prior year forms, andA current return for this year, filed on current year forms.Income tax years are separate and distinct. You cannot file a tax return using income and expenses from multiple years.

What tax form would file to correct a mistake on last years tax form?

You need to file a 1040X (amended). You have 3 years to file an amended return after your original filing.

Which amendment deadline to file your federal income tax return?

You have 3 years from the tax deadline to file an amendment for that year. For example, the tax deadline to file your 2009 taxes is April 15, 2010. You have until April 15, 2013 to file an amendment for that year.

I haven't filed my taxes for 3 years. do I loose the child tax benefit for those past years or will I get a refund for them?

You should file your income tax returns if you qualify for any of the refund amounts and see what happens. You can file for a refund up to 3 years from the due date of the tax return and receive the amount of the refund that you qualify for after that period of time the refund is no longer available to you. For the 2006 tax year income tax return the last day to file and receive the refund amount would have been April 15 2010.

How do you file for last years taxes?

Go to irs.gov and get the forms for 2008 (tax year 2007) and follow the directions. You may also be able to obtain last year's software. The tax laws have changed, so using this year's tax programs and forms would not be appropriate. If you owe taxes for last year that were not withheld, you will have to pay an additional penalty amount. However, this is still better than trying to fix this down the road.

Yes you can, but there would be no advantage to doing so. You would not be required to file income tax returns for any year in which you had no income.

How do you file last year tax return with this year tax return?

You can't. Each year must be filed seperately so you have to file 2 returns. Also, you wouldn't want to because you would lose out...only getting one deduction where 2 are allowed and paying at a tax rate bracket for the higher income.
