Yes unless you have in writing you have cancelled any order you have with that company. Once you give out your credit card # to such places as so many DVDs per month, computer software, etc., then they usually hook you and reel you in. This means they can send you 1 - 10 DVDs a month (even ones you don't care for) and since they have your credit card # they can send it payment to your credit card. Even though many sites on the internet say they are safe it's best not to give out your credit card # or get a 2nd credit card with a $1,000 limit. In business if you ordered 100 tires for your auto business, you had a squabble with the tire company and didn't want to deal with them, then you would have to at least send a registered letter stating your company no longer requires their services. Management has got to sign that registered letter so there is no way they can fake "not hearing from you." If you have written them (heresay has no stand in the court system) and they still persist on charging your credit card with those 100 tires they have broken the law! Marcy

You can establish credit by going to your bank and requesting either a first time loan called a credit builder or see if they will give you a credit card. You paid off and closed a credit card and more than 2 weeks later a rental car company managed to put a charge on the account due to damages to a rental car you'd rented Can they collect?

technically if your card has been canceled than the charge should have never been allowed from the credit card comany. If there is a charge after it was suppose to be closed than you may want to look into weather or not the credit card has really been canceled.

Definition of accounting?

This word has several meanings. One refers to a narrative or a story about events that took place. The witness gave a very thorough account of what she had seen the night of the robbery. The other meaning refers to an amount of money kept at a bank; or a line of credit given by a department store, bank, credit card company, or other business, allowing a person to charge items and pay for them later. Examples: She has a checking account at Eastern Bank, but her savings account is at the Rockland Credit Union. His parents thought he was too young to have his own charge account and they were pleased that the credit card company denied him.

Difference between charge card and credit card?

Credit Cards vs. Charge Cards Many people use the terms credit card and charge card interchangeably, but there are important differences. In general, a credit card lets you make purchases for which you are billed later. Most credit card accounts allow you to carry a balance from one billing cycle to the next; however, you have to pay interest on that balance. Usually, you have to pay at least a certain amount of your balance each time you receive a bill. A charge card is a specific kind of credit card. The balance on a charge card account is payable in full when the statement is received and cannot be rolled over from one billing to the next. Because you cannot carry a balance, a charge card doesn't have a periodic or annual percentage rate, so there is no rate for a charge card issuer to disclose. How do you purchase and use credit cards?

You can buy credit cards by applying for them on the websites of the various credit card companies. You can also get 'prepaid' credit cards from supermarkets. To use a credit card, you swipe it(for purchases in brick and mortar stores) or type in its specified number(for online purchases) to make a charge for whatever you are trying to purchase and then you must pay the card issuer for the charges later on.
