No you can only get HIV off someone who has the infection. You have to bear in mind the 3/12 'window' period, so if you meet someone and they have had any risk factors in the previous 3/12 then you cannot be confident they are still HIV negative

Answer: Yes. Through oral sex and just as any other form of sex, your genitals come in contact with each other. The female ejaculation is often consumed by her partner through oral sex.

Answer: Yes. But, only 4.2% of lesbians have the AIDS/HIV virus vs 35% of gay men having contracted AIDS. It is not clear as to why there is a dramatic difference in AIDS cases between gay and lesbian victims.

Hepatitis C is most commonly spread by blood-to-blood contact (e.g via blood transfusions). Although it was originally thought that Hep C could be spread via sexual activities, that hypothesis is now under question. Please see related link.

Any contact with a person puts you at risk for HIV?

Absolutely not. HIV spreads blood to blood. It spreads through male homosexual activity. It spreads through sexual intercourse from male to female and from female to uncircumcised male. It spreads through shared needles. It spreads through the milk of a mother with HIV to her baby.

Safely for whom? Safely for the baby? Probably yes. Mother to child transmission can be greatly reduced with the correct regime of ARV's. Speak to a Dr. Safely for the HIV negative male? Probably no. Safely for the HIV positive female? If you keep your CD4 count high by taking your ARV's properly and keep otherwise healthy, then probably yes. Speak to a Dr.

How is it possible that a woman who is HIV positive is not able to transmit it to her husband?

The transmission of HIV occurs when a person is exposed to HIV+ body fluid. In order to transmit infection, the fluid must come in fluid-to-fluid contact (blood-to-blood) or with a mucuous membrane. During vaginal sex, the woman is exposed to semen, however a female's vaginal fluid does not necessarily penetrate the intact skin of the male. Among sexual behaviors, HIV is least likely to be past from a female to a male through heterosexual vaginal intercourse.

Are military men less likely to get HIV because they are tested all the time Or are most men in the military HIV free?

military or non military has no bearing on HIV. unprotected sexual exposure is what CAN lead to HIV.................'Straight' men and women are just as likely to contract HIV as bi-sexual or 'gay' men. In the U.S. around 30% of HIV infections are caused by female-to-male sexual contact. If you tested positive, you'll be ok. It's highly treatable, though not yet curable.

Identified risk behaviors for HIV and high risk heterosexual contact?

Vaginal or anal intercourse which causes bleeding, followed by a dousing with seminal fluid. If the inseminator has HIV, it will probably be present in the seminal fluid and may enter the bloodstream of the female.
