A gay person can pretend to lead a straight life, but this will only be repressing his identify and lying to himself. Nothing can change a person's sexual orientation. Even if you undergo "therapies" or treatments, nothing will change about your sexual identity. This has been backed up numerous times by many notable institutions including the American Psychological Association (APA).
Even though a gay person may date and have sex with members of the opposite sex, the sexual/romantic attraction for members of the same sex will still be there. This cannot change. It is better to accept your sexual identity and move on. This will make your life more fulfilling and satisfying. Remember that accepting your own sexual identity does not mean you have to tell the whole world.

∙ 9y agoHe can lie to a woman and himself, marry, have kids and most likely get divorced. It can't be normal since he is gay and would not normally marry a woman. He should accept himself for who he is and find a partner instead of ruining a woman's life and possibly some children's also.

If you mean a heterosexual marriage, yes many gay folks do marry as heterosexuals and seem to have normal married lives, though they reportedly feel very miserable inside.
