Yes it can, and in fact that is what you would want to use as a spare tire. Otherwise the spare would only be good for one side of the car.

Do I need to have a new tire for a spare or can I use one of the tires we are replacing?

If the tire you are replacing is still in relatively good condition, it can be used for a spare. Look for area's of tread that are worn down to the metal. If you see these, don't keep the tire.

What are pros and cons of directional tires?

"directional tires" refers to tire with eitherasymmetrical or rotational tread patterns.Pros of rotational tires:1) generally better resistance to hydroplaning than traditional tread patterns2) generally better stopping than traditional tread patterns3) generally better heat dispersal than traditional tread patterns4) typically look pretty niftyCons of rotational tires:1) cannot "cross" during tire rotation2) if used for a full-size spare, likely to lose benefits in "pros"3) Are more likely to be "performance tires" (check with your tire seller) with a shorter expected tread life than some other tires. This is not always so.Pros of asymmetrical tires:1) Typically better cornering stability2) Allows for multi-compound tread for reduced shoulder wear (longer tread life at the edges) and better temperature controlCons of asymmetrical tires:1) must be replaced exclusively in pairs (axle sets) to prevent 'tire pull'

Directional vs non-directional tire?

A non directional tire has a tread design that is the same regardless of mounting direction. A directional tire normally has a v-grooved tread pattern designed to give better traction and handling at high speeds and wet road conditions and are usually used on high performance cars.

Difference between used and retread tires?

A used tire is a tire that has been used on a vehicle before. Retread tires are different in that they have been used before, but then they went through a process that extends their life. Retread tires are kind of like "refurbished" tires.

Where is the spare tire on a 2010 Toyota Sienna?

If you have disappearing 3rd row seating and no AWD, then the donut is located under the car under the 2nd row seating. If you do have AWD, you have no spare tire. You probably have Bridgestone Runflat tires that will supposedly get you to the next town if you do get a flat tire. The Bridgestone manufacturer states in their tire information that the average life of Runflats are anywhere from 14,000 to 40,000 miles on the life of these tires. The Bridgestone Runflats on my 2010 Toyota Sienna AWD all (4) are badly cupping after only 12,200 miles and Bridgestone will not stand behind their tire even though the miles on the tires are well below the ridiculous 14,000 mile life of the tires. I just took my Sienna back to the dealer today, so we will see if they stand behind their tire installation. I never would have bought a vehicle if I had known there was no spare tire. I didn't even think to ask that when I bought this used vehicle less than a year ago.
